The KARAM PCGS10(PN112) 10M Retractable Fall Arrest Block is a professional self-retracting lifeline designed to protect workers against falls while providing freedom of movement during work-at-height operations.
Equipped with a 10-meter galvanized steel wire rope, high-impact polymer casing and rapid fall-arrest mechanism, the PCGS10 is suitable for construction, tower work, industrial maintenance and other demanding height-safety applications.
10 Meter Galvanized Steel Wire Rope
The KARAM PCGS10 features a 10-meter-long galvanized steel wire rope with a diameter of 4.5 mm.
The steel wire construction provides excellent durability for demanding industrial applications, while the galvanized finish helps improve resistance against corrosion.
Automatic Retractable Lifeline
The PCGS10 operates as a Self-Retracting Lifeline (SRL).
As the worker moves, the wire rope automatically extends or retracts according to the required working distance. This helps keep the lifeline taut and minimizes unnecessary slack.
The worker therefore gets greater freedom of movement while remaining connected to the fall-protection system.
Rapid Fall-Arrest Mechanism
In normal movement, the lifeline extends and retracts smoothly.
If sudden acceleration associated with a fall occurs, the internal braking mechanism activates rapidly and locks the block immediately.
This rapid response helps minimize the potential fall distance and reduces the risk of serious injury.
Impact Force Below 6 kN
KARAM states that the PCGS retractable block is designed to lower the impact force generated during fall arrest to less than 6 kN.
This provides controlled fall-arrest performance when the block is correctly installed and used within a compatible fall-protection system.
PN162 Swivel Hook with Load Indicator
At the worker attachment end, the PCGS10 uses a KARAM PN162 swivel hook with load indicator.
The swivel design helps reduce unwanted twisting of the wire rope as the worker changes position.
The load indicator also provides an important visual inspection feature for the fall-protection system.
PN112 Steel Screw-Locking Karabiner
The PCGS10(PN112) configuration incorporates KARAM's PN112 Steel Screw-Locking Karabiner.
The PN112 is manufactured from high-strength alloy steel and features:
