A CO2 heater is an electrical device used to warm pressurized carbon dioxide gas, most commonly for industrial welding applications, to prevent the freezing of gas regulators and equipment. Because it is stored under very high pressure, CO2 gas rapidly expands when released from a cylinder. This expansion causes a sharp drop in temperature, which can freeze the regulator and disrupt the gas flow.
